Michael is our founder and CEO. Concurrently, he’s Chairman and CEO of National Distribution Alliance, the largest independently owned and operated newspaper wholesaler in the nation.
Michael is a publishing industry veteran, having done senior executive stints at the New York Daily News, U.S.News & World Report, The Atlantic Monthly and Newsweek. He’s a serial innovator. As SVP, Circulation and Business Development at Curtis Circulation Company, he developed and grew secondary wholesaler and specialty sales. At U.S.News, he created America’s Best Colleges and Best Hospitals guides and successfully launched Family Fun magazine.
Prior to launching MagsExpress, Michael was the Chief Operating Officer of Official Payments Corporation, the leading provider of electronic payments for federal, state and municipal taxes and fees. He was instrumental in taking Official Payments through its successful IPO.
Mike is our President. He’s also President and Chief Operating Officer of National Distribution Alliance.
Mike is a lifelong entrepreneur and launched his first company as a 19-year-old when he started importing and distributing El Vocero, the popular Puerto Rican newspaper. Mike went on to launch and manage several newspaper wholesale operations, serving the New York Metro area.
Once competitors, the two Mikes (Pouchie and Presto) merged their two independent wholesale companies and created National Distribution Alliance.
NDA services more than 13,000 retail merchants daily and distributes titles that include: New York Times, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, New York Post, the NY Daily News, Financial Times, IBD Weekly, Bloomberg BusinessWeek, Time Out New York, Elle, Crain’s, The Nation, The Week, Diario de Mexico, Sing Tao, Korean Daily News, Time, People, Sports Illustrated, Vanity Fair, The Economist and New York magazine.
Alan is our Chief Operating Officer. He manages all delivery operations, including training and Customer Care.
Alan honed his knowledge and expertise while working at our sister company MitchellsNY, Manhattan’s finest home delivery operation, a company that delivers more than 1 million newspapers each week.
Alan is an innovator. He created The Milkman and Beverage Universe, companies that provide convenient home delivery of perishable beverages and launched extensive vending operations for The Onion, Village Voice.
He currently oversees hand-to-hand distribution of Time Out New York, Metro and AM New York and is committed to providing high quality, operationally efficient and cost-effective custom delivery to each and every client.
Anne is Chief Marketing Officer of both MagsExpress and NDA. She manages business development, integrated marketing, branding and communications.
Prior to joining MagsExpress, Anne ran customer insights and strategy for TMG Custom Media (where she worked from brands that included WebMD, Reed Exhibitions, CDW, Northwestern Mutual and Cleveland Clinic) and held senior executive positions with Time-Life, Inc., AmericanGreetings.com, the NY Daily News, U.S.News & World Report, Psychology Today and Horticulture magazine.
Eric is Vice President of Finance for both MagsExpress and NDA. Eric cut his teeth on publisher vending and street sales. He was instrumental in the launch of AM New York and other controlled circulation publications. Within our organization, he quickly rose to Business Manager and ultimately, to his current position.
